Italy – Keeping All The Family Happy

Italy has a diverse mixture of history, culture, stunning landscapes and fun outdoor activities, making it the ideal place to take your family. With so much to see and do, there’s plenty of opportunities for you to take in the stunning architecture, experience the culture or spend an afternoon relaxing on the beach, all while keeping the kids entertained.

For a holiday that will keep everyone happy, from young kids to grandparents check out these family friendly spots in Italy.

Camping in the Lakes

Lake Garda is the most visited of the Italian lakes, with visitors drawn to the gorgeous surroundings and delicious food. You can take a family stroll around the picturesque little villages of Brescia and Moniga. Visit the nearby medieval city of Verona to admire the architecture or take a leisurely boat trip across the water. Don’t miss the castle in Malcesine!

The kids will love a trip to the Italian lakes as much as the adults too. They’ll have the chance to try out camping in one the fun-filled holiday parcs with Eurocamp, which has pools, water sports and zip wires onsite. Plus, there’s the popular Gardaland nearby – Italy’s largest theme park with white knuckle rides, river rapids and a huge aquarium!

Exploring in Tuscany

You might associate Tuscany with churches, museums and beautiful architecture – it’s an accurate image of the gorgeous Italian region, but it’s also incredibly family friendly, too.

Northwest Tuscany is home to the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa, where your kids can experiment with getting the perfect pose for a photo! Plus, they can explore the charming fairy-tale city of Lucca, try their hand at horseback riding in the lush green landscape or embark on a nature walk to spot all the different wildlife.

Relaxing in Sicily

If you’re hoping for a family holiday where you can all slow down and unwind, Sicily is the perfect spot. Located just off the toe of Italy’s ‘boot’, Sicily has a huge choice of white sandy beaches where you can soak up the sun and watch the kids build sand castles and play in the beautiful blue waters.

If you’re looking for a bit of adventure, the region is home to Europe’s tallest active volcano, Mount Etna. Spend a day with the kids climbing this natural wonder – they’ll love learning about the history of the site and its most destructive eruption back in 1669.

You won’t have to stress about family holiday destinations again – head to Italy for everything you could want from a holiday. From the lovely sunny climate to the huge choice of activities, your family will want to come back year after year to continue their Italian adventures!
