Mead Open Farm Review – Family Days Out

If you are looking for a fun day out with all the family then Mead Open Farm is ideal. We recently visited and had the best day. There was plenty to do for 3, yes 3 very busy boys aged 4,5 and 7 and baby girl enjoyed it too. As a parent I’m sure you know that happy kids = happy parents.

There is so much to do there and unlike many places you visit, all the activities are included in the entry cost. We spent about 6 hours there and could have spent much longer.

Here are some of our favourites

The Sky Trail

MummyandMonkeysThe boys all loved the Sky Trail, even James enjoyed it. The 4 year old was just big enough for it, but they have a Sky Tikes course which is lower down and smaller for younger children and those that might not want to go up so high.

The animals

MummyandMonkeysThe boys loved feeding the animals and baby girl thought the goats were funny. My favourites were the Piglets, very cute. They have animals inside and outside for you to see.

The Outdoor Play

http://MummyandMonkeys.comWe were very lucky with the weather the day that we visited. There is hours of outdoor play fun to be had, which the boys loved.

Lots of picnic benches around the outside areas and places for picnic blankets mean parents can relax and watch the children burning off their energy. The Paddok Kiosk is near to all the outdoor fun so you don’t have to go too far for drinks and snacks or an ice cream treat.

As it was such a beautiful day we didn’t use the indoor play areas, however these looked great if you weren’t so lucky with the weather. There was also under cover seating for you to eat brought picnics. We ate our lunch from Shaggy’s cafe which was very nice. We sat oustide in the sun to eat and let the boys run around the very impressive Topsy Turvey Towers. There was however seating inside should you need it.

Baby friendly facilities

There are plenty of high chairs that you can use and despite it being a busy day the changing facilitates were clean. There are microwaves available in Shaggy’s Cafe and The Hideout and Takeaway Cafe.

We all really enjoyed our day out at Mead Open Farm and it’s definitely somewhere we would go again.
