Living Arrows #4

IMG_0238

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows, are sent forth’”

Kahlil Gibran

On Friday I went to Kyle’s School to watch him perform his guitar at a little concert. He decided himself that he wanted to learn and I haven’t pushed him at all. He practices (when he remembers to bring it home) without being reminded and likes to show us all the songs he has been learning. He was so proud of himself that he was picked to play the main tune in the group performance and so was I. As we walked out to the car he wanted to play it for me again and I managed to quickly capture this picture of him, which I love. There are some moments as a parent that you look at your child and know that you must be doing something right. He is growing into such a kind and caring, confident little boy and I couldn’t be prouder of him.

Well done Kyle. I’m hoping that N will be keen to play an instrument but at the moment he’s been switching from not wanting to, to piano, to ukelele and back again. #livingarrows

What a beautiful photo to capture the moment. That’s great he’s chosen to learn the guitar by himself, learning and instrument is a great thing. I’m hoping my little one will want to learn one when he’s a little older, right now it looks like he’s aiming for the drums or piano. #PicknMix

What a beautiful picture. My 6yo says he wants to learn to play the piano, so I need to look for some lessons near us. It’s great seeing our children growing up and becoming confident young people

  11. A beautiful photo. He is such a handsome young man! Learning a musical instrument is such a commitment so good for him for taking it up, it’s often those children that make the decision themselves to learn that stick with it and are good at it. Well done. #PicknMix

  24. Looks like he had great time there. Me and my wife love music very much, so is our five year old. He loves to play piano and sing . I think its really important that kids learn a musical instrument in their little age. we always encourage music in our home weather it be singing or playing music instrument.
