SS16 handbag wishlist

March 28, 2016

I can remember when baby no.1 came along and I tried in vain to carry on using my nice handbags, squeezing everything in and soon found out it’s pretty impossible. When no.2 was cooking I knew I would need a nice changing bag to see me through until I could start using normal handbags again. Then with no.3 I discovered something amazing, why I hadn’t realised it before I don’t know. It’s a bit like the vest trick, if you don’t know what I’m on about with the vest trick just ask as that’s pretty life changing too. I realised that if you get a nice changing bag, you can also fit in a clutch bag or small handbag with your essentials in. Not only does this mean you can still use fashionable bags, but you don’t spend ages looking for your phone or purse in the bottomless pit that is a nappy changing bag.

I’m of the opinion that you can never have too many bags, it’s a bit like shoes, you need different ones for different occasions and well sometimes just because. I used to buy handbags often, not always expensive ones, just ones that I liked asbag shopping along with flipflop shopping always makes me happy. I’ve been having a little look at and created my SS16 handbag wishlist, all are £50 or under and available at House of Fraser.

  6. Biba Mini Pouchette in orange: £29

I love all the varying colours of these bags, brights and pastels to team with your spring and summer outfits. House of Fraser sent me the Dune Becky Small Flapover Bag in Yellow (4) and its perfect for my current yellow obsession (just look at my Instagram). I’m going on a date night this week and plan on using it then. What do you think, beautiful isn’t it?

I would love to know which bag is your favourite from the selection?

Disclosure: I was sent a handbag by House of Fraser to include in this post, however all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I do like the Accessorise Tote (no 2). I carry a big Kipling tote bag that fits in the changing stuff too. The thing is with a big handbag my husband and foster son have been know to add things to my handbag while we’ve been out lol. I love Cath Kidston handbags the most and did have a bit of a collection going on but they just aren’t big enough for all the things I need to carry round.

I love the blue tote bag a lot, it’s beautiful. The yellow one is nice too, would add a nice splash of colour to an outfit. What is the vest trick?I’m intrigued! Xx #picknmix

the vest trick is when they do a poonami its up the vest and instead of pulling it up and over their head so that it goes over their hair you pull the vest downwards! Its amazing xx

  3. Love Love Love handbags! I have far too many for one person, but that never stops me buying more. I love the yellow one, I too have an obsession with yellow. Off to have a look at it again 🙂 x

  4. Lovely collection, I have one handbag can you believe it? I used to have dozens but they’ve all gone during previous house moves, the one I do have though has a great whacky pattern on and get’s lots of comments so it’s not all that bleak! #PicknMix

  5. I am a massive bag fan and have way too many. My current obsession is totes so I would go for the Marianne tote from Accessorise Ideally in a different colour though if they had a brighter one. I like my bags to stand out as I am generally in black

  6. I know what you mean about babies ruining your handbag game haha! I am huge designer handbag lover (shame on me I know) and I now opt for a small cross body for my essentials and then ram everything that I don’t really need (and probably shouldn’t even be carrying around with me) into the changing bag. #PicknMix

I love how we are thinking on the same wavelength with this bag thing, I do the exact same thing and put my clutch in my changing back. As you say it saves frantically trying to find your keys or your phone in the depths of a massive changing bag. I love the Dune yellow bag too, there are so many nice summer things out there now. Claire x #PickNMix

  8. I totally get you with the changing bag taking over!

Great selection, I love the shape of number 1 but not sure about the colour, LOVE number 8 too 🙂

Oh I need a new bag now haha x #PicknMix

  9. I love that yellow bag too – as well as number 1. I adore bright handbags, a bit like colourful nail polishes! They instantly brighten any outfit and make you feel summery. #PicknMix

  10. Love number 4 and 7 – the yellow is just beautiful for Spring and the berry colour is lush! Thanks for linking up to #picknmix xx

  11. Ooh I love no1 & 2! I had a really nice changing bag in which I put everything in but I must say its nice now Mia’s a bit older that I can have my own handbag again with my own things in and a little pocket for Mia’s things! 🙂

What a beautiful selection! I remember being so excited when my son no longer needed his huge changing bag and I could start using a handbag again. Not quite so cool when you’re carrying it alongside a Cars rucksack but still lol! My favourite from this list is number 1 #picknmix
