Pumpkin Picking Fun A Great Autumn Day Out #nodulldays

What a difference the clock change has made! The evenings are definitely drawing in now and I think that’s my least favourite part of winter. It makes it seem so much more gloomy doesn’t it? Knowing that the beautiful Autumn colours will soon give way to bare tress and icy cold mornings. I actually had to scrape my car the other morning and was totally unprepared. Where do those scrapers disappear too? Every year I end up buying a new one!

November is definitely an in- bewtweeney month before we get twinkly lights and Christmas sparkle to brighten up the winter.  I find it really easy to hibernate when the seasons change as I’m much happier in the summer. But I know that getting out actually helps my mood, even if I don’t feel like it before going.

Our favourite day out this half term, well mine anyway, was when we went pumpkin picking. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a few years now and so this year I was determined to make it happen. We had a fab time, even with the drizzle and the mist. It somehow seemed the perfect weather, very Autumnal!

We had a great time wheeling the wheelbarrow around and choosing our pumpkins.

Ava chose a little green one that she insisted was the baby one. Whilst the boys found the perfect shaped pumpkin to carve a Minion face in.

To the side of the pumpkin fields they had corn that they all loved running through.

I really wanted some Munchkin pumpkins but they had run out. I did manage to pick some up in our local shop which I was pleased about as I think they are so cute. I couldn’t find a white pumpkin anywhere though, so next year I’m going to start looking earlier.

Sometimes the weather in the autumn and winter means it is difficult to get outside and have fun days out like this one. So that there’s no dull moments here, we have started to give the kids a multivitamin each day. Finlay and Ava have been testing Bassetts Vitamins 3-6 Multivitamins + Vitamin D & Calcium.  It has all the normal multivitamins, but with added Vitamin D and Calcium, made with natural flavours, colourings and no added sugar. They both love the Peach & Apricot flavour and Ava now calls them her sweeties!

The Vitamin D and Calcium are important to support healthy muscle functions, teeth and bones. The Public Health England advise that everyone needs an average daily intake of 10 micrograms of vitamin D (10µg), to protect their bone and muscle health; with much of this intake coming from sunlight during the spring and summer, the Department of Health experts now recommend that during autumn and winter everyone should consider taking a daily supplement containing 10 micrograms of Vitamin D.

Our friends at Bassetts Vitamins have also created a fab code that you can use to get £2 off one pack of NEW Bassetts 3-6 Yrs Multivitamins Peach & Apricot + Calcium 30s at Boots.com! All you need to do is sign in as normal, apply the code BASSMVS2 at the checkout and embrace #NoDullDays! You can only use the code once per transaction, and the code can only be redeemed on the first 5,000 valid claims until 23:59 on 12th November.*

  1. Gorgeous photos! I wish we lived closer to a pumpkin patch. Looks like you all had a great time. Polly

  2. I’d love to see that Minion pumpkin 🙂 I really need to get my kids on vitamins as the weather is changing. They hate wearing coats and I think something like these would help them fend off bugs!

  3. Beautiful photos! I need to start giving my daughter vitamins, will look into these one!

I hate the cold dark gloomy winter nights to, I wish I could hibernate until the spring, it looks like you had a fun day pumpkin picking, we usually buy them from the shop, but next year I want to see of there is a local farm I can take my children to to pick their own, I think they will really enjoy it xxx
