A weekend in Devon vlog

Over the Easter holidays we spent a weekend in Devon so we could see James’ family. It was lovely to get away for a few days after the stress of moving house recently. I’ve been wanting to vlog for a while and our weekend away seemed like the perfect opportunity. I’ve had this edited for around a week now and have just plucked up the courage to post it and change it from private. I would love to know what you think?

The boys don’t have any real cousins although we now say that they are it’s nice that Ava does and they were all so excited to see each other when we arrived. I can’t imagine what it must be like to live far away from your parents and your family. I know it’s not another country but its between 4-5 hours away or 9-10 if you try and travel peak times in the summer. Seeing how hard it is for James and his Mum makes me all the more grateful that I live close to my parents and my sister.

Poor Ava had a bit of a shock the day we went to Ilfracombe and she fell over in the sea. It was freezing so we had to rush her back to the warm car to change her, then took her straight back to warm up in the bath.

I love the beaches of North Devon, we have had so many happy days there so I’m looking forward to going back in the summer again with the boys and all the family.

As someone who lives in a different country I can say yes it can be very difficult living away from family and friends. But the times together are even more special! What a beautiful place and a fab blog too. Thank you for hosting

Heading to Devon soon to see my partners family too and I think people forget just how long it takes to get there. I have a 5 hour trip to look forward to 7 months pregnant!

I love Devon though and it looks like you and your family had a lovely time! It is always so nice to go back.

Love the video. I live in the south Devon coast but my sister lives on the North Devon coast so we spend a lot of time up there. We do love it, and that cafe at The Tunnels is perfect for the kids to have a play & you to grab a nice bite to eat. Hope you had a good journey home.

Lovely photos, poor Ava falling into the sea though 🙁 It must have been freezing.
I live in a different Country to my Mum … we’ve been near each other for all of my life except this last year and it’s not nice. I can’t wait until we’re all reunited again (hopefully soon) x

Lovely photos. I love Devon, as I live in Cornwall we head to Devon quite a bit. But we go on the South Devon coast not North. My husbands older sister and brother live near Exeter so we always go to Teignmouth quite a lot. Its beautiful there xx

Oh that you for sharing this post because I have been meaning to book a long weekend to Devon for ages and you’ve given me the push to do it – the photos are beautiful. I spent a lot of time in Devon as a child – remember the 4-5 hour car junky so well but it is so worth it. You have a gorgeous family. And you’re right, when you have to drive so far you really appreciate living closer to your own family #KCACOL

Oh what a lovely weekend you had!! I haven’t been in Devon before and I really want to go. I have it in my Uk travel bucket list for sure. It is so nice to have a weekend away and spend sometime with the family. This is something I miss a lot because my family is miles away from us (at the other side of the pond ). I love your vlog, your little Ava is so cute! Thanks so much for sharing this at #KCACOLS. I’m so happy that you joined us for the first time!! I hope you like it!! It was very nice meeting you last year at Blogfest (Mumsnet). I hope we can coincide again soon!! 🙂 xx
