Sustainable / Eco Gift Ideas

If you want to gift more consciously this year I have a whole selection of gift ideas. From reusable coffee cups to sustainable fashion. There are even some kids gift ideas in here too.

I made a vlog of some of the items and ideas if you would like to watch it here …..

Eco And Sustainable Gift Ideas

This reusable coffee cup from KeepCup is a sleek design, made from glass with a cork strip to stop your hands getting too hot. It’s a reusable coffee cup that will last!

Red have this greet 2 in 1, a canteen and sports bottle which is rust proof. It would make a great gift for someone who is into sports or camping.

Gift a set of Organic Bamboo utensils in a gorgeous slimtravel pouch (also sustainably sourced), handmade in Bali by Bare Vida. Included is a knife, spoon, fork, straw and chop sticks! A lovely gift from a lovely company.

Looking for a backpack then Solgaard have created one that is made from ocean plastic. The Daypack! Such a brilliant idea.

For homeware and a truly unique gift this cactus cushion handmade with organic cotton from The British Library would be ideal. It would definitely brighten up any interior! Their online shop has loads of unique gift ideas.

When buying candles look for ones that are hand poured with soy wax and that use essential oils rather than chemicals, they smell nicer too!

This one from Sand + Fog is unique with its cork lid and smells amazing. You can pick them up from Amazon or places like HomeSense and Tkmaxx.

Or for a small business Hopping Hare hand-make beautifully scented candles that are consciously packaged.  Their winter spice is my favourite for this time of year.

There are so many lovely beauty companies that provide organic products in eco friendly packaging. One of them is Green People whose products are natural, organic and ethically sourced with a whole heap of awards and recognitions for being cruelty free and eco friendly. Although their products are in plastic it is 100% recyclable. The plastics and all of the packaging materials that they use are checked, assessed and approved by the Soil Association, Organic Food Federation and EcoCert, each of who have very strict standards on the environmental impact of cosmetics and their packaging.  This Tree and Seeed gift set would be lovely for the man in your life.

Evolve Organic Beauty are another fab small company who have some lovely Christmas gift sets in eco friendly packaging. Evolve Beauty products are lovingly handmade in small batches at their studio in Hertfordshire, England to ensure the freshness of the precious antioxidants in the natural oils, butters and extracts. Their products are vegan, cruelty free and eco-friendly. Their glass bottles are made from fully recyclable glass and they use recycled card for all of their cartons. When it comes to plastic, they opt for 75% to 100% recycled PET plastic, which (unlike PVC) is fully recyclable and if it is put into landfill, it degrades without leaching any chemicals into the soil. Not only that, their labels and packaging are printed using non-toxic soy and vegetable-based inks.   Their Christmas star Lip Shine is amazing!

I’ve recently made the with to a bamboo toothbrush. Humble Brush is a toothbrush that will clean just as well and last just as long as your regular plastic toothbrush, with the added benefit of being better for the environment. With a 100% sustainable bamboo handle, Humble Brush is the eco-friendly and socially responsible toothbrush choice, as every Humble purchase funds projects for the benefit of children in need.

Foodies will love something from Cocofina, like this coconut turmeric water of the Hazelnut Chocolate Spread. Cocofina products are made from the right coconuts with no hidden ingredients, additives or preservatives and come in fully recyclable packaging.

Indigo Nutrition have a whole heap of Organic products to choose from. This Natural Chocolate Making Kit would make a lovely gift. It includes everything you need to make your own natural, pure chocolates with 100% pure botanical ingredients, absolutely nothing added.

For clothing buy second hand, the gorgeous skirt pictured above is from eBay. Or look for sustainable clothing items like these running socks from Teko who make eco performance socks.

Teko RunFit sock are in a sleek low-profile shape. Whilst luxurious ultrafine fibers wick moisture from the foot and dry quickly which is ideal for hot, wet conditions. The sock is a seamless, snug fit for perfect comfort. Teko’s Evapor8 socks are made from 100% post-consumer regenerated material.

Evveervital are a new women’s athleisure brand founded by Katrin Schneck who set out a challenge to create a range of athleisure apparel with innovative materials that is ethically sourced and responsibly manufactured, without sacrificing style, quality and performance. I can’t wait to try out some of their gym wear as the quality of the bamboo briefs is fab!

SueMe sportswear are another great brand to shop from as they design and produce responsibly sourced sportswear. Not only that but they would like to help people connect with nature, part of the way they do this is by making their clothes from super soft, super comfortable fabric made from trees. (Hence tree trunks and beech shorties, you see !) They also like to give something back too after all “what goes around comes around” So, they include a small packet of beech, birch and wild meadow flower seeds with your purchase which if scattered and grow will suck in more carbon that it took to produce your garment in the first place thereby helping to offset yourself and your purchase with SueMe today.

The kids needn’t be left out in your conscious gift giving this year. You can easily pick up second hand books that look like new from charity shops or even online. Or look for ethically produced books like The Tree The Key and Mr by Librio (you can read my full review)

Green People also have sets and products for the little ones and their sensitive skin, like this Organic Children Fruity Favourites Including  their Citrus Crush Shampoo, Lavender Burst Conditioner, Berry Smoothie Bath & Shower and a Citrus Hand Sanitiser. All with no nasties!

The OKIDO subscription magazine for children 3-6 immerses young children in a spectrum of playful activities and media, all intelligently designed by science and education experts to encourage collaboration, curiosity, exploration, discovery, creativity and critical thinking. They also strive to be eco-friendly and OKIDO magazine is printed on 100% de-inked, recycled paper and they mail it to you in recyclable envelopes.

One World Play Project Ultra-Durable Football outlasts traditional inflated balls. It never needs a pump and never goes flat even when punctured. It’s the same size and weight as a standard football, built to withstand the harshest environments but plays great on turf and grass, too. And every purchase helps fund play projects to enable play for youth living in disadvantaged communities worldwide.
