What an end to the week! I’m late with this post as I have spent since Friday looking after a really poorly Ava. She’s still not great now but we are hoping she is on the mend. It’s half term here next week so we have plans to visit some National Trust places and do some local activities and I’m really looking forward to no school runs and a bit of a break from all the clubs!
I finished Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine and I absolutely loved it. At the beginning of the book I didn’t really like the main character, she made me cringe, but by the end I just wanted to be her friend. We all know someone who’s a little bit odd on first appearances and it’s definitely made me think about being more aware of being less judgmental. That makes me sound like I am which I try not to be, but I’m sure you know what I mean. I finished this book in pretty much one day when looking after Ava and I couldn’t put it down. It’s the first book for a while that has grabbed me like that.
The Fall! I LOVE it. We are on series 2 and it’s got us hooked. If you like a psychological thriller and you haven’t watched it, do! It’s also got Jamie Dornan (50 shades of Grey) as the main character in it and he’s fab. I didn’t get the choice of him in the 50 shades films but I do now.
Podcasts. Ok late to the party I know, but I’ve been listening to Alison Perry’s ones and have really enjoyed them. So after asking for suggestions I’ve added a few more to my listen list. Now I’ve just got to figure out when to actually listen to them? Those that listen to Podcasts when do you do it?
It to the gym. I’m really enjoying being back at Virgin. I go to a dynamic yoga and a body pump class every week. Ava loves the crèche and we go swimming together once a week so I think I’m getting my moneys worth.
I have a little confession to make. I gave myself an hour off earlier and I’m not really sure why I felt guilty for it?! Ava goes to pre school mon am 9-12 and then wed 9-3 and if I do anything other than work when she is there I feel guilty! But I’m glad I did it earlier as this evening has been full on, being on my own AGAIN! You think I would be used to it but clubs, guitar lessons, toilet training and a stroppy 7 year old can mean evenings often see me frazzled by bedtime. You can’t pour from and empty cup and I’m starting to realise that actually some time out means I’m a nicer person and a better Mum! I’m doing a little self care challenge next week if you would like to join in? The link to the group with all the details is in my bio! And Lastly ….
I’ve been really enjoying changing direction on my Instagram to more lifestyle than family, along with the blog and I have made the change from Tots to Hibs and feel so much happier with everything after the rebrand.
