Are you looking for things to do over the School holidays this October half term? I’ve put together a list of Halloween things to do in Bedford, Northampton and Milton Keynes 2017. There are even some free activities in the list. Have a Spooky Halloween!

Thursday 19th – Monday 30th October – ALL HALF TERM

West Lodge Rural Centre 

Every day throughout half term will be the panto style Ghost Story Shows, Spooky Tractor Rides*, Pumpkin Carving*, Spooky Walkway and Witch’s house tours. As well is all the usual fun on the farm including the brand new Indoor Adventure Play Area, free barrel rides, get up close with our animals in Cuddle Corner, piglet racing and not forgetting our outdoor adventure playground and acres of beautiful walks. I can vouch that this is a great place to go!  

Halloween Spooktacular- Sunday 29th October. This is a day full of spooky goings on when all of the staff dress up in their favourite Halloween Costumes!

Mead Open Farm – Freaky Fun Fest

With six ghoulish attractions for family fun by day and grown up frights by night! (see adult section at the bottom) Daily, there’s fun Ghost Stories and Spooky Fancy Dress Competitions too, plus for a small extra charge carve a perfect pumpkin! 

Wyevale Garden Centre  Woburn Sands, Northampton and Podington.

Dates and times vary between centres. Activities include; haunted heather planting (£2.50), Spooky Spiders, (£2.50), Phantom Lanterns (£2.50), Pumpkin Carving (£2.50) and Halloween party (£7.50).  

Thursday 19th – Sunday 29th October

Irchester Country Park – Ghost Train Trail

10-4pm £2.50 per child including a prize.

Saturday 21st – Sunday 29th October

Frosts Woburn Sands– Halloween Circus – 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm

A thrilling, fun family show with new acts. Suitable for all ages and children under 18 months do not require a ticket.

£7.99 per person

Frosts Woburn Sands & Willington – Pumpkin Carving

Children can Carve their very own Halloween Jack O’Lantern. All pumpkins are locally grown and each child will be given a battery tea light to place inside their pumpkin ready to take home. Included in the price is a gory cup of witches brew!  £6.99 per child 10am -3pm each day.

Whipsnade Zoo – Boo at the Zoo

Spooky goings this Halloween half term. Enjoy a spook-tacular range of Halloween -themed activities, animal demonstrations and hands-on crafts. Special Halloween versions of the zoo’s popular animal talks, feeds and demos.
 

Waddesdon Manor – Horrible Halloween

Throughout October half-term there will be our ever-popular Halloween trail, spooky treats to tickle your tastebuds, and crafty activities for everyone to get involved with. Come in Fancy dress to enter the competition.
 

Use your imagination and create your very own pumpkin design. Make sure to come early as they have a limited number of  pumpkins grown especially for us! £4 per pumpkinThis years Halloween trail takes you through the woods in search of some creatures of the night. See how many creatures you can find on our special illuminated woodland trail. £2 per child 

Castle Ashby Pumpkin Hunt BOOK ONLINE ONLY!

Follow the trail around our gardens to find the hidden pumpkins, once found copy the face of the pumpkin on the activity sheet provided. Find all the pumpkins to win a prize! But watch out there could be some spooky goings on too!

Monday 23rd – Tuesday 31st October

Intu Milton Keynes – Fang-tastic Halloween Fun 

Scare away the half term holiday boredom with a week filled with fang-tastic, free-ky activities for your little monsters. All hosted in our Kids’ Club Garden, near Debenhams and the Frog Clock. 

Guess the spooky items in the mysterious halloween boxes and take a terrifying selfie next to the giant bubbling cauldron. From the 23 October to 31 October.

On Tuesday 24 October (11am-4pm), join Lush for a crafty activity

On Thursday 26 October (10am-4pm), it’s good old pumpkin carving. Get a FREE pumpkin, make a scary face and carve away.

The Big Trick or Treat Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 October between 11am and 4pm for a weekend of fun, free trick or treating as your little ones are invited to find all the retailers and their devilish delights.

Monday 23rd – Monday 30th October

Stanwick Lakes

Creepy Trail – £1.50 from the Visitor Centre.

Halloween Crafts – Available in the Visitor Centre from £1.

Face painting from Changing faces – Available in the Visitor Centre during 26th – 29th October, from £2.50.

Birds of Prey – Owls To behold are back on the 23rd, 25th & 27th October in the Visitor Centre.

Reptiles – Jeepers Creepers from (Owls To behold) and Adele’s Reptiles & Birds will be joining us on 24th, 26th, 29th & 30th October.

Spooky Scarecrow Lantern Walk – Saturday 28th 6-8pm
Make your own Halloween paper lantern before being led on a spooky evening walk around the Visitor Centre Lake to find Scarecrows!
£3 per person or £10 for a family ticket (2 adults & 2 parents)

Monday 23rd – Sunday 29th October

Wrest Park – Ghosts, Ghouls & Goings On  

Mysterious goings-on await you at petrifying Wrest Park. Meet our gruesome guides as they take you on a journey into the puzzling past – use all your wits to solve the riddles and claim your terrifying treat.

Have a got at our creepy crafts and try your hand at carving your very own petryfying pumpkin to take away (additional charge of £4 applies for pumpkin carving, sessions at 11am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3.30pm on a first come first served basis).

The Restless Ghost of Wrest, Ghost hunt trail – 11am – 4pm, Halloween Costume Competition, at 4pm, Mask Making, 11am – 4pm,

Monday 23rd – Saturday 28th October

Higgins Bedford 

Cost £2.70 per child, accompanying adults go free! No need to book, buy tickets on the day.

Family Tree Prints –Tuesday 24th October 11am – 12pm, 12pm – 1pm, 2pm – 3pm

Print on to a bag to hold your tree treasures 

Tree Portraits – Wednesday 25th October 11am – 1pm then 2 – 4pm drop in – Free event, no need to book

Join local artist Lisa Tilley for a free drop-in art activity inspired by the beautiful paintings of trees in A Walk in the Woods. Using leaf printing, leaf rubbings and even embroidery you will be able to make your own beautiful tree portrait. 

Leafy Luminaires – Friday 27th October 11am – 12pm, 12pm – 1pm, 2pm – 3pm

Create a beautiful luminaire to brighten the autumn evening

Wednesday 25th – Sunday 29th October

The Forest of Marston Vale – Family Pumpkin Trail

Mildred the Witch is a friendly old soul, but she’s a bit grumpy this Halloween as she’s missing an ingredient from her Halloween cauldron! Meet Mildred and pick up a Halloween Trail sheet to track down the missing ingredients as you explore the Forest of Marston Vale. Parental supervision essential.

£3 per child. Suitable for ages 2+ – every child gets a small gift to take away!  

Friday 27th October

Sywell Country parkPumpkin Carving

1:30am-3:30pm Booking essential. Carve your own terrifying Halloween Pumpkin. £5 per pumpkin. 

 Saturday 28th

Abington Park Museum 

Join us for a spooktacular day of fun with scary craft activities and a haunted trail around the museum. Try the Witches’ Brew at the refreshment stall if you dare. Come dressed in your scariest costume! £1 per child. Drop in – no booking required 11-4pm.

Saturday 28th – Sunday 29th October 

Stoke Bruerne Boat Company – Halloween Boat 

A spooky boat trip into Blisworth tunnel this Halloween. Each brave soul who enters the tunnel will get a halloween treat!
Places are limited on each trip. To book please contact The Canal Museum 01604 862229 
Trips will run at 5.15pm, 6.00pm & 6.45pm – Each trip is approximately 30 minutes – £4.50 per adult £3.50 per child
The museum and cafe will be open for hot drinks and Halloween treats!

 Saturday 28th & Tuesday 31st October

Safari MK – Halloween Parties

5:30pm to 7:30pm -£11.95 per child. There are two Halloween parties this year on Saturday 28th October and Tuesday 31st October (all adults and children under 1 are free -if coming with a paying child): Use of our 3 tier play frame throughout the whole 2 hour party, Halloween party games with prizes, Halloween buffet for all the children – served at 6pm, Disco from 6.45pm to 7.30pm, Face painting, Visit from Chief Monkey Charlie.

Tuesday 31st October

360 Play – Halloween Party

Get into the Halloween Spirit with a disco, fancy dress and ghoulish games. 6.30 to 8.30 pm. Children £10.50, Adults £5.50, Under ones Free.

Mead Open Farm – The Howl

Featuring five huge and incredible haunted attractions full of live, terrifying creatures. The Howl is an awesome night out full of fun and screams. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Halloween month and enjoy the superb street theatre, live music, and great food, all wrapped up in a friendly festival atmosphere. The Howl is a 12A rated attraction, but an adult MUST accompany children under 15 at all times!

    Great ideas, we live in South Wales, I took our five year old daughter halloween in with my sister and niece this year which she loved, i don’t usually take her as I feel cheeky knocking doors xxx
